Authors use figurative language to express their ideas with more detail, decoration ,and accuracy. Saying that the boy ran quickly and that the boy ran as quick as a dog, gives a more specific meaning to it. Figurative language also gives the essay some variety rather than describing everything in adjectives. These kinds of additions that authors can give to their articles can impress the reader more with the higher quality and skill of writing. The reason why figurative language may seem like a higher level in writing is because figurative language does not directly imply but rather includes some reasoning and thinking to figure out the meaning of the author. And authors always should want to try to improve their articles.

But actually, authors do not use firgurative language too much. If used too much it will lose it's effect on how it normally does. So when you're writing you should remember that too much of the figuratives and you will ruin your paper, but with a bit of it, your paper can be come more beautiful. And papers should always look beautiful.
