The theme of the story completely revolves around the action of the character. The author can drop clues according to the characters actions, descriptions, or symbolism. Whether the character is human or non-human, the story must have characters to have any action occur in order to have a theme, or even a story. And with a story a theme will appear according to the reader’s response.
